The geology of the site is a rocky mass made up for a massive and pseudo stratified dacite orientated to the NW. This mass is affected by a tectonic fracture due MW and with less damage on E-W and NE.
The predominant seismic pattern of the region is of type cluster and is associated mainly with tectonic graves of Tepic- Chapala and Chapala-Colima. The geology of the site is known as well as the structural detours of the rocky mass.
Additional studies had been made of the material banks (alluvium of the river and rocking) alongside an intense geotechnics investigation campaign to define the parameters of resistance, deformation and permeability of the rocky bulk.
At the present time there are enough geological – geotechnical studies and analysis that have allowed to predesigned civil works considering amounts of work and the costs with greater certainty.
