Environmental protection is essential to preserve the ecological resources of the planet, but above all, it is essential in order to offer a good quality of life for present and future generations.

That is why, the “Comisión Federal de Electricidad” (Federal Power Commission), in each of the projects that it carries out, contemplates the protection of the habitat and of the natural wildlife of the sites in which it operates.  It also takes care of sanitary issues, waste management and it underscores the compliance of environmental laws.

The preceding activities are known as “Sistema de Gestión Ambiental”  (Environmental Management System), which is a series of procedures that establish the guidelines to be followed by the Federal Power Commission in order to perform the activities leading to the protection of the environment through prevention, reduction and compensation of the environmental impact it generates.
